Little Black Dress Initiative
Junior League of DeKalb County Participates in 10th Annual Little Black Dress Initiative
Join us at Café Lily (308 W. Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030) on Sunday, March 8th at 12:00 p.m. for the Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) Kick-Off Brunch.
This event will launch a week-long awareness and fundraising campaign. The 2026 Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) will be held March 9th – 13th. Junior League of DeKalb County (JLD) members will wear the same black dress or outfit for five consecutive days with a button that requests the public to “Ask Me About My Dress”. The goal is to spark conversation and spread awareness about generational poverty, as well as help raise funds for those in need in DeKalb County.
JLD Members must register.
Non-JLD Members can purchase a ticket for $25.
We are collecting new or gently worn professional black dresses, pantsuits, or skirt suits to support JLD’s Professional Closet initiative.
JLD will be hosting a “School Girls to Career Women” career training event on March 12th hosted at Elizabeth Andrews High School. High school girls (ages 17-22) will be able to shop our Professional Closet at this event. We are accepting sizes 0-24 and we will be accepting donations at the brunch.
